“Everything changed for me when I could finally go to school without any troubles. Thanks to Kurandza, I can attend school because I don't have to worry about fees, supplies, or even my ride to school! Going to school is my happiest moment, everything feels brighter when I'm there. Before meeting my teachers, I used to not even have any dreams and now I'm so close to making them come true. It's also so great to see my mom relaxed about my studies. Truly, my whole family is thankful. I want to thank Kurandza, my teachers, mentors, friends and everyone who supports me and my classmates.”
Meet Anshia “ALDA”
A student whose life took a turn for the better when she began her studies with the support of Kurandza!
“My life completely changed when I began my studies, all thanks to Kurandza's support. Every day I feel like I'm discovering a new part of me. I have so many new stories and experiences. Before I started school, I was always curious and wanted to learn more. But alone, I found myself getting distracted easily and never able to focus or study on my own. Now with the help of my teachers, I am way more focused and if I can say so myself, even smarter! The best part about school isn’t just the learning (which I love) but also playing with my classmates. I really love recess when I get to have fun and play outside. Thinking about how I was before - a calm girl who would lose focus now and then - and seeing where I am now, makes me so grateful. My learning journey is really exciting and a surprise for me!”
Meet Belmira
A student who experienced how being provided transportation, opened up a world of possibilities!
“My world got brighter when I started getting rides to school. Yep, it made such a big difference for me and my family! Before attending school I used to be that shy, quiet girl, but now… Now I'm starting to open up, thanks to the motivations from my classmates, teachers and mentors. Being in secondary school was a huge change for me, but I was able to build up my confidence and now I love learning. Especially geography, it's my favorite. What makes it easy now is that I don’t have to try and study alone at home, I can study alongside all my friends! I also like to see the change in my mom, she is so proud of me! That ride and this community has made all the difference for me and my family.”
As you can see, together we are truly providing a hand up not a hand out! Our programs are designed to create lasting impact across multiple generations, and this kind of long-term sustainability is only possible through empowerment and the transfer of skills.
