We did it and we are blown away from ALL your love and support! Because of YOU, we succeeded in securing scholarships for all 200 girls in Mozambique to go back to school! This means that we will be able to provide school fees, books, uniforms, backpacks, school supplies, and transportation to the 200 girls in our education program so that they will be able to continue getting an education in Mozambique!

#IStandForGirls Backstory: From a Namesake to a Campaign
In the past four Septembers (can you believe it’s already been four?!), the #IStandForGirls campaign has gained more momentum than we dreamt possible. We’ve connected with donors and sponsors from all over the world, enabled hundreds of children to have access to education, and started enrichment programs in rural Mozambique that we expected to be years off when we first began.

Last month (February), the girls at our partner schools in Mozambique had their first day of school. The first day of school for the girls in our program is always a fun day! They get so excited for school now that they are equipped with uniforms, backpacks, and all the school supplies they need! We want to share a quick recap of their first week of school so you can join in with the excitement and get to know the girls a little bit better!

2019 #IStandForGirls Campaign: Holistic and Sustained Education
It’s the most wonderful time of the year: time for our yearly #IStandForGirls campaign! For the third year in a row, we’re dedicating an entire month to raising awareness and funds for our schools (and other programs) in Mozambique and we have a feeling that this year will be our best yet.

We want to give you an update on how are girls are doing in the education program that was made possible from the success of our 2018 #IStandForGirls Campaign. It is thanks to all of our sponsors, donors and Giveback Partners that we were able to raise funds for 200 girls in Mozambique to go to school this year! Before we give you an update on our how our girls are doing in school, we first want to remind you why Kurandza’s main focus is on girls education.

For many of the girls, it was their first day of school ever and they were so excited :) We want to share a quick recap of their first day of school so you can join in with the excitement and get to know the girls a little bit better!
School's Out In Mozambique!
It’s December and that means that school is out in Mozambique! Our first group of sponsored girls (from the 2017 #IStandForGirls Campaign) just finished their first sponsored year of school! A lot of the girls finished their first year of school ever, and some of the other, older girls, finished their first year of school without difficulty.

In the states, we’re in the midst of the hustle and bustle of a brand new school year. But for our girls in Mozambique, the school year is winding down in November.
